nice black and white. And sometime our favorites are not necessarily what others would call our best.
Thanks, blastoh!

without a definition of "best," I chose the one that I'm in the mood for at the moment - no large talent, not a difficult shot to get. Miner's Ridge LO in the fog.

Can't wait to get back up there next summer. I want to get to Canyon Lake.

Sweeping a high speed turn down The Gunsite on Mt. Pilchuck. I ski this many times a year as an after work dusk patrol, but this day we were there early with good light and Jon ripped it up for my SLR that I rarely carry skiing.

I took a few that were probably better quality than this but this is far and away my favorite of the year. Filtering water at Kathleen Lake. The beach rock made for a comfortable place to lay down and the slight breeze and lapping of the water with absolutely no other sound all made for a memorable moment.

Here is my fav shot for 2012...
Eagles don't usually let me photo them. These two just finished mating and settled in on the rock in my front yard. I actually was able to take 4 photos before they flew off and this was the last one. I had to have my camera at my hip with the LCD screen pointing up. The first shot they heard the click from the camera and looked up at me, the second they looked anoyed, the third you could tell they were about to take off and this last shot as they looked at each other checkin to see if they both were ready and off they flew. It was a great day out here right before the earth drops off... biggrin.gif

It's all about the fun, oh and maybe the chocolate - half fast

I can't do it. I can't pick just one right now. 2012 was my best year yet. I got several pics I REALLY like last year including one very unconventional one that required quite a bit of planning and work to execute. Heck, that's the one I'll post. It required creativity beyond just being in the right place and the right time and while there are other pics from last year that I really love (and that other people seem to as well), I'll put this up because it's so different from anything else I've done.

For the first time, it has nothing to do with hiking. It's from the 2012 Austin GP (Formula 1 Race). Hamilton hunting Vettel. A few laps later, Hamilton overtook Vettel and won the race.

Eldorado Peak at Night
Eldorado Peak at Night
This was one of the best camping places I've ever been to. With the moon shining above and the dark blue evening light it was an amazing lighting. Forbidden, Eldorado, and many more great mountains were surrounding us.

Im not sure I had a "Best" picture. I wasnt able to get out in Late September/October/November because of work and my home purchase. I was lucky enough to visit nearly all the parks in Utah though.
