Windy - Witchita Ridge - Rooster Comb Loop

I wanted to give my Vasque Breeze 2.0 boots the heel test so I headed for Windy Ridge which has a very steep trail on it's spine. From the parking lot I followed the road grade towards Dry Gulch, then followed a trail to the East to connect with it. The Windy Ridge trail is good part of an early season conditioning loop with good views of the valley, rock formations, and surrounding mountains. That it's five minutes away is a plus too.

From Windy I went straight up to the high point on Witchita Ridge, then over to Rooster Comb and down it's ridge and down. The trails have dried out considerably, some places are all ready rock hard, and low and behold there are plenty of Buttercups out on the North side of open ridges. A good quick workout.

Glad we wear the same size boots. Trying your Breeze 2.0 was the deciding factor in me getting a pair. Like them so far. Good photos of the area.
