Is there any timeline for an app for this Forum?

I follow five other forums using Tapatalk and looked at getting another friend's forum hooked up to it. It is not free and does cost a fair amount of money to do it. When you add that to paying for your host server, domain licensing etc...you have to give the guys here some credit because they haven't tried to monetize this forum yet to recoup any of the costs.

That's weird--the Trail Blazers and Hi-Lakers website is on it and it's free. I wonder if your forums are paying for extras maybe? Users pay a little for it, I think I'm into it for $3 to use it on my Android fone.

They have a free version. It works really well. I use it on a site I admin and it couldn't be easier. I also use it as a user on another board with extremely high traffic and it works really well. It would be a great addition for nwhikers. I highly recommend it.

My mistake...I must have been looking at the extra service packages they offer. It is a great app.

I've asked about it too...it's free for the forum, the app is $4.99 I think for iPhone OS. I used to have it on my Blackberry but haven't sprung for the app on my iPhone yet. It's sooooo nice....I wish they would do it.

AFAIK, it's not available for phpbb2. Won't happen until we upgrade to phpbb3.

phpbb3 appears to have been released in 2007. What's the timeline for that upgrade for the site?

I use it for the hi-lakers site via my iPhone.

Timeline is when someone with programming skills volunteers the time to do it. Porting the custom modifications we made to phpbb2 will take a lot of time and effort. So you can have phpbb3 and tapatalk without any of the unique features we have added, or you can have something that works just fine for most users, including features that you don't see on any other site, like flickr integration, auto thumbnailing, picture captions, wiki labeling, etc. which are far more useful to most who use this site.

Maybe someday the Amazon money will be enough to pay someone to do it.

Someday? I like the custom features of the site though and wouldn't trade them for mobile app if there had to be one or the other. I want both..
