Dane badly injured both of his ankles, but (from FB) my understanding is that he has no life-threatening injuries.
Again from FB, he seems to be in good spirits, but won't be doing any running in the next few months.
Props to the folks that came together to get him out. Shameful that this helo rescue unit has to go begging for money while Boeing, MS, et al are getting massive tax breaks

He is at Harborview, probably until Monday. Bring him flowers, or at least some pizza.

I don't think this is a local option. I've never heard of SAR around here getting monetary benefits from rescue insurance.

As always, a huge hat tip to HRT, and a reminder to buy that shirt. All the cool kids have them.
Prayers for Dane...glad he's mostly okay.

Thanks for the concern everyone. I'm not currently up to relaying details but yes that was me. I'm extremely motivated to get back to climbing but my ankle injuries are severe and my recovery will be long, difficult, and possibly not full. Life changing for sure, but with support, positivity and hard work I can make it a change for the better. It really does help to know I'm in your thoughts so keep the good vibes coming!

Best wishes and I certainly hope the recovery is complete or close enough. I have immensely enjoyed following your travels and trips.

Sorry to hear about your mishap Dane.
I hope you are back out there before too long.

I'm sorry you got hurt. I hope you will be able to get back onto the trail soon. I had major reconstructive surgery on both of my ankles (at the same time) after a skateboarding accident when I was in my early 20's. My ankles were never the same after that, but I still get out and hike as much as I want to with the help of an ankle brace.

Good luck, and do what your PT tells you! Though I don't know you, from your posts you strike me as being someone with the right sort of fortitude and positive attitude to be able to indeed "make it a change for the better."
