I was cleaning some more shelves getting ready for our move and I came across this - from 50 Years ago:
A lot of this gear is still sitting on shelves in my garage lol.gif

The catalog even had Trapper Nelsons in it. up.gif up.gif

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Great find. Some interesting shifts in camping gear since then. Wish I could have those prices.

Picture on page 43 of Nema Tenzing who we knew and helped arange our trip to Nepal. I have pulled a lot of those old pins out of crags around here.

Quite a find. Thanks for posting. Can't believe I actually had some of that stuff. Let me see...wasn't that about the time the "Seattle Sleeping Bag Co" went out of business and Eddie Bauer started fazing out camping/sports gear and started becoming a clothing store? Edit: Or was it the Alaska Sleeping Bag Co.?

I remember that catalog with the iconic Everest photo on the cover. After spending plenty of time dreaming about the gear in this catalog, I eventually got the Raichle Palu boots ($28.95!) and the massive REI Expedition Cruiser pack with red nylon bag and waist strap ($22.95) and got years of use out of them thereafter. Thanks so much for saving this gem, scanning it and sharing it with us.

Eddie Bauer didn't become a clothing store until the 80's. I got a Coleman Peak 1 stove and Trek XC skies for 75%off at their clearance sale of "hard" gear at the old Bellevue square and Rainier Square stores, makes me feel old. tongue.gif
