I managed to remove AtuZi from my computer. Now I'd like to get rid of Trovi. What are good anti-malware programs that can remove it? For example, does Malwarebites do a good job? I'm not technically proficient so can't go in and manually remove it. I need a removal program. Honestly, Kaspersky is doing a piss poor job of protecting my computer.

This came up on a search. http://malwaretips.com/blogs/trovi-com-removal Wondering if it's legit. I hesitate to follow instructions on these self-help pages unless they're from a trusted source.

AdwCleaner by Xplode software is my go to for tough malware. Seems to get the job done. Small footprint too. Do a search, it's available in lots of places.

If you want to nuke the system I suggest downloading PDwipe or Kill disk. Then back up everything you want to save. These are the disks we use at the DC. Killdisk was the one we used at the bank DC. Make Sure You Clearly Mark This Disk. Don't worry if you or someone accidently boots into it - it will not begin the wipe until a command is entered. But it could give you a wth moment if you weren't expecting it.

Thanks for the tips. Can anyone recommend a reliable download site for AdwCleaner? I've heard (correct or not) that CNET downloads are sometimes infected. So far I've found: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Removal-Tools/AdwCleaner.shtml https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/ Unfortunately, Kaspersky doesn't rate websites for safety shakehead.gif , so you have no advance warning when you click on a Google search hit.
