The B&O tax was a great corporate tax since it gives no room for hiding profits through accounting loopholes.
dizzy.gif dizzy.gif dizzy.gif Wait, didn't you say above that you favor a progressive tax? If the B&O tax were levied against profits it wouldn't be so bad. But it's not. It's levied against revenue and thus highly regressive. That Boeing, etc. get exemptions just makes that much more regressive. It's quite obvious that you started this thread to fuel an argument. We have already established that your initial premise is nonsense and you keep piling on more nonsense. The facts are what they are: King County residents pay 41% of WA tax revenue and get back only 22% in expenditures, i.e., King County urbanites, including myself, heavily subsidize your roads, your schools, your state police, etc., etc., etc. Please stop playing victim. It makes you look silly.

206 has been sending its rain clouds over the pass to 509 for years. hmmm.gif

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Is it time for gravity to stop making it too easy to hike up mountains?

From the nwhikers policy on political discussion: "As a result of political discussion radically altering the character of this forum and adding minimal benefit, we no longer allow non-outdoor related political discussion. Outdoor related political discussion and ONLY outdoor related political discussion free of partisan jabs, namecalling, spray, etc. goes in the Stewardship forum." Please take it elsewhere.

Not to belabor the argument, but technically this is not 100% true (unless i missed something). The data includes B&O revenue which is a business tax. So it should be king county "residents and businesses" and not just residents. I'd like to see the same numbers and comparisons excluding B&O. That would be a more accurate residents vs residents comparison for me. Not that who pays or takes more really has any bearing on anything other than bragging rights... But, if King county is complaining, they also control all state wide elections so maybe they should do something about it!

they're not the ones complaining...

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

Really, the state needs to take over the Lake Chelan ferry terminal from the Forest Service. What the hell, is the Forest Service doing running a ferry terminal for Washington state residents!!!
hmmm, it's a couple of docks ... privately owned. FS may lease the land to the operators, but that's a far cry from running a ferry terminal.

If? Have you read the title of this thread? BTW, corporations, LLCs and partnerships that reside in King County are King County residents.
