Went on a little beach walk out at Diamond Point yesterday and came across the grave of one Capt. Thompson, died 1860.

Consulted Google this morning and came up with this: http://files.usgwarchives.net/wa/clallam/cemeteries/captain.txt

The gravesite is depicted on the USGS map, 1/4 mile east of Thompson Spit. (Highly recommend the Discovery Bay beach south of Diamond Point - much wider & nicer. But access crosses private land, unless one bushwacks in past the State Park gate at the end of Discovery View on the old roadbed, and know where to drop down and not encounter a cliff! There is a way trail that works... makes a nice winter scramble & stroll.)

Diamond Point became a US Federal Quarantine Station for Puget Sound and also a leper colony.
