Pakitgourmet dehydrated burger, green and red peppers, cabbage, black beans, with fresh avocado, 3 year aged Tillamook cheddar cheese, taco bell fire sauce, wrapped up in a flour tortilla...yum!

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Cheese, hard salami and crackers is probably my own answer to this question. And now I've been craving Triscuits ever since I read your reply. <adding them to grocery list>

For the last, well, 15? Years I have always taken a "snack pack" in the cargo pocket of my zip offs. The snack pack is what I have on the trail as I hike, or when I stop to eat. It is a ziplock sandwich sized bag. In it is : mixed nuts, 4 slices/pieces of jerky, dried fruits, 4 Tillamoo little cheses, one granola bar, and sometimes one "goo" packet of either Justin's honey almond butter, or hammer gel. I usually add hammer gel to my water tho. Too sweet. Sometimes I will put some rice crackers mix in there, sometimes some other firm crackers... Typically, I end up eating the jerky while I am on the move, throughout the day. I will have the granola bar for breakfast, some fruit, too, on the move. Is usually sit down to eat the nuts and cheese. I don't know why that is tho!

I moved most of my snacks to the front-zippered lid of my pack. Less weight on the legs. I do keep Honey Stinger Chews in my pants pocket, though. My on-the-go munchies include a nut/cranberry/dark chocolate trail mix, and dried mango slices. This thread seriously sounds like a trail buffet in the making :-)

Italian wraps. Salami, Peperoni and cheese in a tortillia. Sometimes with dried veggies if I have appropriate ones. Cashew pieces and dried bluberries for my favorite trail mix

Tortillas with nutella if I want sweet stuff. Tortillas with whatever cured meat I am carrying if I want salty. if I do not stop just reach into my pocket for whatever bar I put in there that day.

I've packed that too. A little pepper and it's a good filling meal.

Hmm, I like that idea. I hadn't thought of taking that before. And that reminds me, I also like taking bacon jerky.

OK not a meal but having some juicy tangerines/tangelos (or the like) is an awesome treat for me after hours of hiking, esp on a hot day. It tastes like gold after just drinking water during the hike to a location.
