Not really getting what you're saying here. Derp much? Dogs were here first, they deserve the best we can give them in the wilderness. Man comes second, if then, or never.

Beach camping in the Philippines, I had something like poodle, but it was roasted on a spit. Pretty tasty, actually.

You had a campfire at Spectacle Lake?

And the meek shall inherit the Earth...um...if that's ok with you.

Oops! Or maybe they built their fire just over a 1/2 mile from the lake? Ya think?

the local boutique yuppy pet store sells several varieties of organic freeze-dried raw meat dog food. I add vegetable oil for fat.

Some people have better things to do with their lives than walking the dog. Some don't.

Hardly. Dogs were as much a part of the agreement here as we were. Scrap were given or scavenged. The arrangement was mutually beneficial. Early mankind did not offer ceremonious meat offerings to the dog in reverence or in payment so they might be 'spared'. Nope. It was a working relationship and has grown from that.

Yep, everyone- except the OP. While we all love our dogs, the modern canine evolved into its existence by virtue of the slow domestication of the grey wolf and its at first tenuous relationship with humans. Feel free to look it up. Cooked food, eh? Best, eh? Campfire at Spectacle, eh? Again, look em up. On the trail, I feed my girl K9 Natural, which supposedly replicates the diet of the ancestral grey wolf; there are many other freeze dried or dehydrated raw options. At home, she eats fresh raw complete with ground organs and bone and all. As I am vegetarian, this all disgusts me, but we do what we can for our canine companions; they do, indeed, deserve the best we can provide! smile.gif

Well, Lewis and Clark preferred dog to other options which the natives thought weird. Mine is a last resort if marmots aren't available. biggrin.gif
