My nephew Max recently finished a master’s degree in environmental health/safety and is rewarding himself with a solo bike trip from California to Canada. Blog with pics: http://maxcycling.wordpress.com/ Route map and campsites (updated every 4-5 days): http://www.mappingsupport.com/p/gmap4.php?ll=47.301585,-121.684570&z=7&t=m&label=on&q=http://www.mappingsupport.com/p/recreation/max/bike_trip_2014.txt Eventually he will show up at our place and hang out for awhile.

Looks like he's getting close to here.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Max used a website (mentioned in his blog somewhere) that helps bikers plan trips on roads of that sort.

I dunno, I find the 25 road (cougar to Randle) to be too narrow for me to feel comfy about riding on. If you communicate, tell him to be careful on the north side. It is very very rough and full of slumps and potholes. It will also be busy this weekend. The popular hunting season opens.
