It sounds like it is Ed Miller's Traveling Summit Register. It was placed on Iron Peak last year.
Yes, it looks like we posted this in the wrong thread. We didn't realize there was more than one traveling register.

The NWHikers and Fay Pullen's register have both been removed from Mac Peak's summit where we had placed the NWH register last summer. bawl.gif confused.gif Ragman and I searched for it extensively, even on the false summit, in case somebody with a twisted sense of humor had moved them over there. shakehead.gif Apparently some people consider registers "litter" down.gif Let's hope they packed them out and didn't toss them off the cliff!

Sad. I hope many of you reading this continue to put up registers. There will always be more of us putting up registers than the few taking them down.

Mac Peak!?!?!? WTF!?!?!? rant.gif That is one of my favorite local peaks, and the highest peak in the "Stevens Pass Quad". It is not close to any roads and has no trail, either. The registers were not hurting anything. If I remember correctly, Fay Pullen and Mike Collins had signed on the first page of the Mac Peak summit register. Some people are real dorks.

I have the material if you want to start one. What I have is a tube with threaded ends and the caps. It isn't water proof but maybe it doesn't have to be if the zip lock bags are kept sealed. I was thinking of placing some Teflon tape on the threads to see if the water could be kept out that way but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.
