It's been in my closet for far too long - time to let it go. I use my MLD Duomid for snow camping much more often. Lightly used red Hilleberg Akto. Small rip in the stuff sack but tent is in perfect shape. Includes the footprint.

Greetings! I have been looking to get a new (to me) 4 season tent. Can you please explain why you prefer the MLD over the Hilleberg? Also, do you think the Akto is big enough for 1+dog? Sorry to eqivocate, but i am potentially interested ...

Mostly due to weight. My silnylon MLD with a groundcloth is about 1/3 the weight of the Akto. It's also more roomy and overall more versatile. On snow I can dig down for extra space or add in a mesh liner for buggy trips. I just use it much more often than the Akto. That said, the Akto is much warmer and sturdier for truly bad conditions. It would be a tight squeeze with a dog. The Nallo would be a better Hilleberg tent for 1+ dog.
