Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

I guess this link was also posted in '13. That said, when I ran across it I knew just the place for it.
I knew he was kind of a big deal, but then I find out he also developed a more accurate stereograph for improving photo to topographic map transfers. All those years of USGS quad porn, enabled by good old Lage's work to not only put the places down and name them, but give us hi rez dreaming material. Who knew?
In turn, that leads to thoughts of my trusty magic box stuffed with all the quads I have, some pristine, some battered and stained. That tells the tale of that map box, and many top moments in my life.

I believe Lage Wernstedt was responsible for nearly all of the awesome names attached to North Cascades peaks: Terror, Fury, Forbidden, Challenger, Despair, Sinister, etc. (I just wish he'd gotten first crack at naming the volcanoes--- "Baker" really doesn't do justice to the fire-and-ice giant of the north). Names have power; I was completely captivated by the North Cascades before ever setting foot there, just from seeing the names on the topo map.

Very interesting article,
The terrific names he gave to the peaks of the North Cascades add a certain amount of mystery to the are that would not have been afforded by the dull, common names so often associated with mountains.
