I don't know how I wound up reading this, but I find it utterly fascinating. Given the subject matter, I also wound up paying inordinate attention to my eye motions while reading the material. Some very cool ideas, like the saccade motion of the eye reaching 900deg/sec at peak rates. I love the gaze map of the same photo, but different questions about it. The interplay of perception, processing, and optics is pretty wild, especially since we all do it continually... Eye tracking did your eye stop then return at the non hyperlink letter g, above? lol. Mine did when I found I did a typo, now I'm leaving it for irony

20 or 30 years ago Canon had a SLR that would let you chose your autofocus point by looking at it. I still have to choose by turning wheels.

That's interesting. I wonder what subroutines were used to differentiate between the different vision motions as detailed in the article.
