Article I don't know why the author thinks we don't have these here. Friluftsliv ... is the concept that being outside is good for human beings' mind and spirit. "It is a term in Norway that is used often to describe a way of life that is spent exploring and appreciating nature"

it is not that these qualities do not exist here, it is that we do not have a single word which expresses the complex concept.

Klahhane, a chinook word, means it's good to be outside! i think, tongue.gif but for the US, FUN is short and simple...good for the human beings mind and spirit! hockeygrin.gif

I remember Kaizen. Back in the good ol days when my coworkers and I were embracing improvement strategies. We had teams, a database for tracking, we had everything. Then a new director comes along and all that goes bye bye. Yep, money well spent.

I want to find a T-shirt with that word on it. agree.gif up.gif (but not the "Nerd" T-shirt that is out there. That one misses the point)

Being outdoors is also part of the curriculum in Norway's schools. Isn't that a great priority? cool.gif

Frosty, Lucky enough to live where it snows in the winter! smile.gif

I am happy with it. I spent all of about 5 minutes designing it and the price wasn't bad.
