I was attracted to the ridge which connects these two peaks during a recent ascent of Sawyer. You can drive FS 6066 to about 3000 feet and then hike the logging road to 3350 before having to go into the clearcut to reach the ridgeline. I also climbed Pt. 5403 just in case the mapmaker mislabelled the lower peak at 5200 as Alpine Baldy. But as it turns out the lower peak is named correctly. If you want to do these now is a good time as you can feast on blueberries along the way. The only other visitor this year was a peakbagger named Greg K. who was up there in July. He had tried an ascent in January which was not successful and was completing the outing in July.
