I checked out Capture The Magic by Jack Dykinga from the SnoIsle Library last week. It is one of the best photography books I've read. On first glance I judge every photography book on the strength of the pictures - if they aren't great why waste the time reading further? The photos here are all masterpieces, but Jack is also a good writer who explains very clearly and succinctly how he came to take each shot, or what aspect of composition it showcases. The info is more inspiration and composition than techical, although he does go into specifics at times if needed. He also writes with heart and his love of the landscape comes through without any bs.
