Just a leisurely car trip with David's Westfalia looking for a place to ski. Joined a half dozen other cars camping at the WA Pass.

Both David and I slept under the stars. From a meadow off the HW:
The lens got frosted quickly, making long exposures difficult:
A late Alpine start, we headed over to Silver Star.
Spectacular scenery:
Skiing was kinda mixed condition, but enjoyable.
Met a group spent three nights there, sounded like a great idea. The snow in the trees was not very helpful, especially for day trippers. The upper East slope looked very inviting, maybe next year. More pics here.
Thanks guys. Yes, the the sky is dark at WA pass, though Milky Way came up so late leaving me little sleep for the next day. Anyway, I'll go back for more photos this Summer.

Was there still some soft snow and good turns down from the col?
Jim, your TAY TR helped us to head to Silver Star. However, the soft snow you had was gone to more stiffer kind. The lower slopes skied pretty good, except those frozen chicken-heads in the trees. They did not soften up in the afternoon. Still a super nice tour, we had.
