Forest Service is in the process of inventorying property to sell. Due to budget cutbacks and emphasis on the mis-named "Healthy Forest Initiative" the Forest Service is getting rid of surplus property to generate cash. So far this hasn't included any campgrounds or trailheads but there will be some closures for sure. It does however include the Forest Service Ranger Station on Lake Wenatchee including 35 acres.
Here's a chance for NWHikers to pick up a nice retreat spot.
