Despite the publicity in the PI last Thursday, it was nicely uncrowded at Sunrise during the past week, a perfect time for the high elevation hikes at the NE corner of Mt. Rainier. The weather was fantastic, with clear views to Puget Sound and north to Mt. Baker, and all the trails are completely clear of snow. Most of the wildflowers are past, though some pearly everlasting and asters are in bloom. Once beyond the lake junction, the trails are not at all crowded smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
