Took about 1h20min to get to the trailhead from Seattle. Started hiking at 7.45am. There was a search going on for the two hikers lost on Vesper Peak, nearby. This meant helicopters etc about all day. They were found safely later that day.
Trailnotes:
- there's a restroom at the trailhead
- It took me 2h45mins to get to the top.
- No snow anywhere near the trail at all.
- The previous day was very rainy and this resulted in lots of clouds forming right where I was.
- At the top I saw Glacier Peak for 5 brief minutes. Baker peeked over the clouds though. Once I put the tripod away, Glacier reappeared, and with verve.
- Had the top to myself for the 45 minutes I was there.
- Saw 8 people on the way down.
- Lots of different flowers along the trail, but few large areas.
I was wondering what today would have been like for hiking. You could see the mountains...but you could see the cloudes too. Getting a glimpse of Glacier Peak doesn't sound too bad.
