Last Wednesday I hiked up to Comet Falls. The weather was perfect. It was overcast and we couldn't get a clear shot of the mountain but the temperature was just right. The trail was a little wet in spots but overall it was beautiful. The hike up to the falls was so worth it. There are some smaller falls on the way up. I got some great pictures. From Comet Falls we followed the trail up a steeper incline to Van Trump Park. I swear that last mile seemed harder than the first 2.8. We had seen so much beautiful scenery on the way up, that we expected something else great to be waiting for us at the top. It was merely a sign that says Van Trump park and points you toward Mildred. That's it?? But it was a great day. about a 6 mile hike with 2100ft EG. Not too bad! Where did everybody else go?? Any suggestions for a midweek day hike this week???
