Am looking for historical documents with plant information /inventories. Have obtained copies of updated 1860 GLO reports and a reprint of 1930 Resource inventory. 1860 report doesn't say much upriver of MT. Vernon . 1930 report didn't reprint most of text but does have a CD with a map of communities Does anyone have any historical data on this area?

CrazyJake, where have you been concentrating your research? Have you tried various fisheries agencies such as WDFW & NMFS?

Hi cliff,
Have tried the WDFW, NMFS,SRSC, UW, Native plant Society, Nature Conservancy, USFS, DNR, NRCS and Skagit Conservation District. Historical data that I have found is biased for timber harvest. Historical data seems to be very erratic and some is almost impossible to access. Part of the problem may be that inventories seem to be slanted for timber production and not for a record of what was there.

Didn't recognize all the acronymns in your last post, but have you checked out the Natural Heritage Program? They keep tabs on field surveys, literature and data collection throughout the state.

Hi TimberCruiser, Haven't tried talking with them yet but I have been on their website. Haven't found anything there yet. I think an e-mail is in order.
