Anyone interested in joining me tomorrow a.m., I'll be at the 8 mile campground (white caravan) tent camping with my wife. She'll drop me off at the TH in the a.m. and pick me up at the Snow Lake TH in the evening.
I'm a slow but steady hiker so if you have the desire and the day free, come on up.

Sarbar, you would have been most welcome. The traverse has been on my tick list for years and with my wife being able to drop me off at the Colchuck TH and pick me up at the Snow Lake TH later in the day, I knew I was going to have to get it done.
It turned out to be a perfect day. Cool going up Aasgard and nice and sunny in the middle Enchantments. I met Corey Bigler, a fellow summitpost member at the TH and we joined up to spend a great day together.
Thanks Trailjunky: I'd like to do it again this fall when the larch are in full golden glory.

A few pics from yesterday. I know this may belong in the Trip report thread but maybe these might provide a little inspriration for anyone contemplating this hike. As you can see, I am in the process of converting the posted attachments to Flickr.
Corey is about halfway up Aasgard

Crystal Lake never fails to charm viewers like myself.

Prusik Peak presides over the area, including Talisman Lake
After passing Leprachaun Lake and just before descending to Lake Viviane, this view of Snow Lakes makes you realize that you still have a lot of miles to go to get to the TH.

I love that picture of Colchuck. up.gif They must have got the dam fixed.
The water level was surprisingly high at Colchuck and Snow Lakes. I had to take off my trail runners when I went across the dam between Snow Lakes and barefoot it, something I haven't done in years. My hiking partner had regular boots on and had no problems but I didn't relish hiking 7 miles in wet footgear so I took em off.
The bugs weren't a problem either, a few mosquitoes tried to dine on me but overall, they were easily controlled. If you do the traverse, try and get over Aasgard before it gets too hot.
Dean, tremendous photos. I'm thinking of heading up in September for the larches, too. Maybe just for an overnighter.

Thanks Cliff. Yeah, larch time is the real prime time. I didn't get up there last year but maybe, just maybe, this year will work. Regardless, have a good trip come September.
BPJ, aren't you about due for a trip up to the 'Chants? Sweden?
