Too bad they don't maintain an archive but I guess that helps sell more books.
Yea, that's what I was thinking. He used to post on there not to mail him about keeping an archive because he didn't have the space (hello? flickr?) but once he announced the book I realized why he didn't want it.
There's also potential copyright issues. These are images sent in from others that may not have copyright ownership of the material they send, and he's now taking that and publishing it.
