The bottom of the hull is armoured and shaped in such a way that it deflects the blast and shrapnel away.

It's more bullet proof, more land mine resistant and more safe at ANY trailhead, not to mention more mobile. It also uses the same engine as Backpacker Joe's Jetta. On the down side it's not street legal

Nice! The multi-fuel capability is a big plus, but the top speed leaves something to be desired It would take a while to get from Seattle to most Cascade trailheads.
