Please look to see if you see a snowline for any of you going to the Enchantments this weekend (October 5-6). I will be there next weekend (October 12-13) to climb and would like to know what you find. Please respond to this post. Thanks!

Heading up this weekend to do the west ridge of Prusik Peak (III, 5.7) and scope the South Face (III, 5.9) and check out the hooplah on the Chockstone Route (III, 5.9+) that is featured on the last page of Rock & Ice this month Not taking ice axe or crampons, so I hope that it is snow free at least, I am assuming that it is dustings here and there, and some pernament snowfields that always exist up there How nice are the camps at Upper Snow Lake? How far in is that anyway? 6-7 miles? How far in is Lake Viviane?

So, how was the weather up in the Enchantments? Any snow up there?

Absolutely perfect weather Nice campsite at upper snow lake on the beach. sunday was awesome, clear as a bell - but real windy at the passes and high points. the descent after breaking down camp was horrible. I hate the snow creek trail, especially with weight and after hiking into the enchantments, I was really trashed, actually I still am!

snow level
Stefan... The snow level was at about 7800 feet near Bonanza. Plenty of verglas though and on the shady side of the peaks it lasted for the whole day.
