Probably already been mentioned, by my I90 stop is Mountain Burger in Easton, pretty decent and you can call ahead and pick it up at the drive through. On Hwy 2 in Cashmere, Rusty's... Halibut sandwich and onion rings.. mmmmm.

Ranch House BBQ at 10841 Kennedy Creek Road, just off SR 8 near the Summit Lake exit about 16 miles west of Olympia. I've had lots of BBQ in my day (lived in both Memphis and TX) and the Ranch House is the best BBQ I've had in the PNW!!! The garlic slaw is awesome too. Food network was there in Dec. filming a piece.

So, say, if you knew that there were going to be 100 Mountaineers camping in the Icicle, or perhaps 12 Mountaineers at XX backcountry destination on a particular weekend, are you saying that you would be unwilling to share this information with us?
Unwilling? ...not at all. There is just no realistic way for me to keep up with it... I'd suggest reading their go guide if you want really acurate information. You can view the go-guide online at http://www.mountaineers.org/ and click Monthly Magazine. As to groups over 12 camping, the only ones I know of comming up in Icicle on the weekends of march 18-19, and 25-26 (intermediate climbing rock 1 field trips), but my friends are I are not camping, we are staying in a motel. I'm sure many others are camping, no idea where exactly. That said, there are lots of other clubs out there that also have large groups... (BOALPS, WAC, Mazamas, etc). I know the basic climbing groups will have 2 weekends at stevens pass too (and alpental) with lots of people, but I think they are all camping in the ski areas, after they close for the season, and doing winter travel practice. Most of their really large groups (over 12) are in places you would probably not be. Ski areas, private land, that kind of thing. I guess Icicle is an exception to that. For the small groups, too many to name (hence the go guide suggestion). Cheers

BTW, Valleyboy, what kind of costume is that in your avatar? That looks like a good one for scaring people in the woods... not that I'd ever do anything like that.

Is that place ever open? Everytime I have been through there it seems to be closed.

If you are coming from the Dungeness Area they have good hamburgers at 7 Cedars Casino. They are open until late at night and have free coffee. The snack bar is off of the bingo room.

Those are actually 2 different places Cartman. The Marblemount Diner is the yellow place on the corner that I like. Good Food is the place that you like.

Visconti's
For the leavenworth area, I love visconti's. I know, I know, it's a little fancy to be walking into after that post hike funk of sweat and grime. But I don't care. If I'm paying the premium for good food, they can deal with the funk (then you tip a little more). There's nothing like a huge pasta plate full of food and then dessert. Last time I was there they had a deal where you buy this huge beer, I'm guessing like 32 oz. maybe, and the massive glass came with it. Twisp brewing is awesome for up north.

There's a tavern to the left of 59'er. Try it. I liked it. Needed to make a phone call one night a coupla months ago--a drunk person in the bar let me use her cell phone. While I was making a phone call another lady was making the moves on my partner and kept asking OVER and OVER "Haven't you been in here before?"
Are you refering to the Headwater's Pub?

Mtn Loop: Mountain View Cafe. everthings' good. Waitresses surly and freindly all at the same time. ????? Food sucks worst than the service, water tastes like steel dust and the beer taps haven't been cleaned in 20 years. But other than that great place.

Hmmm...I really like the food at Mtn View cafe, except for the fried chicken, but that may have been an off day. Agree about the surly/freindly waitresses and the service. I usually take my full waterbottle in for washing down the grub. Can't beat the ambiance on a cold, wet day though. Set yer all-wet, cold self down next to that wood stove and get all steamy and a fog surrounds you like a ghost. Wood walls and cieling, warm lighting...I like it. The place next to 59'er Diner is the Squirrel Tree. I et there last time I needed ettin' when in that area, and it's well enough. It got the job done and kept me alive to my next meal.
