Normally the first weekend in October has been safe so I planned on heading up there this weekend. Alas, my planning has gone amiss. Indian summer, where art thou? waah.gif

Yah, by the reports it looks as though I got the last good day of the season in the Chants - Wednesday, 9/28. Wednesday night was not so good. I spent 12 hours holding down my collapsed tent in gale force winds at Sprite. Hiked out (drenched) on Thursday. I'm a glutton for punishment though. I'll probably go back again next year - hoping for the same 4 day period of early October sunshine I found there in 2003.

You never know, those accumulations are not big, they could melt back. I did the Enchantments last year in mid-October after a snowfall the previous weekend. Also good to note all the (west side) rivers have finally come up, salmon will be bashing upstream now.
