The wife and I spent a couple of days at the Drake Peak Lookout in South Central Oregon. The lookout is about 10 miles north of where the Nevada/California/Oregon borders collide. Just outside of the city of Lakeview. Pretty good views.
They have propane lights, propane stove for cooking, and propane refridgerator. For heat, you need to bring firewood. They have four cots to sleep on and a table. Picnic table also outside. You can drive to the top with any vehicle. Cost is $25 per night. If you would like to stay there here is more detail:

Lakeview also has a natural geyser that goes off once every three minutes. The geyser lasts about 5-7 seconds.

Cool report and pics Stefan.
I was curious about this area when I looked at it from Warner Peak across the way. Light Peak, Crook Peak and Twelvemile Peak are all nearby and would make for some interesting side trips. I've been down to Crane Peak and found the view of Lakeview from there pretty nice. A neat area that most people never hear about.
