lol.gif I shouldn't laugh but you are the 2cnd person to ask me that! Truth be told..I have a LOT of maps and guide books that I don't use..and with the gas prices these days, this Rainier girl won't be seeing the North Cascades anytime soon. Figured I'd rather sell and make some new snowshoe $$ instead biggrin.gif (Which, btw...I still have some North Cascade guide books up for sale)

Oh, yeah. I love the wall-size maps, and have the walls to mount them on, too. I find the large size makes planning long trips easier, as opposed to TOPO! where if you get a large map on the computer screen, then all detail is lost. And I do love the Okanogan, especially the Pasayten. Sorry, old chap.

Gasp!! NEVER get rid of maps, especially old ones. Twenty years from now you are going to miss them. They provide a wonderful snapshot of the time. Check the Abandoned Trails thread and realize that for most of the world, if a feature is not on the most recent edition of a map it does not exist.

This the year!!

I liquidated a whole set of colorado maps and guide books at bp.com, I simply gave them to some guy whom then sent me a check for the postage. I have two mapping software programs, but still find myself buying new ones at the FS offices when I take the time to stop in. Ah well, good idea to clean house!
