If you can't embrace it, MOVE, like to S. Collyfonia.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Yeah but did you see the forecast for the upcoming long holiday weekend. Stop complaining, rest up and get ready to get out there. Who said winter has closed out the hiking season. I want to read more trip reports

It is currently snowing at 770 ft elevation in the North Cascades. Not sticking, but snowing nonetheless.

We have snow, maybe several inches on the mountains and hills down to 1000-1500'.

Even though there is under 10 inches of snow in many places, would it be a wise decision to stay out of the snow this Turkey Day? With the cooler temperatures I would expect a lot of ice formation and I don't have crampons.
I was thinking of heading up either...
a) Tunnel Creek via the Quilcene River
b) Marmot Pass to Buckhorn Mountain
c) Silver Lakes via Windy Lake
...but I don't want to fall and break my ass.

I think we got all the snow down south in "our" mountains! Lots of new snow up at Government Camp. It rained nonstop Sunday and Monday until about 4:00 p.m. Guess it didn't make it north.

I'm embracing it, it's embracing me, we are one happy couple the weather and me. hmmm.... on second thought, maybe a separation would be in order, he says, plotting his escape to the sunshine and those amazing blue eyes of Arizona or New Mexico. (eyes? did he say eyes? I think he meant skies. hmmmm.)
