Skagit River Journal
That's a great site. I've subscribed and contributed to it for several years. It's amazing what that man has done with the meager funds he receives. He provides an in depth history of Skagit, Whatcom and Snohomish counties, whether your interest is in pioneers, cities and towns, farming, logging, mining or exploration, the information is well researched and interesting to read.

INTERESTING STUFF
Thank's for the interesting info., Polarbear. I liked the part's about Bedal. I think of him when I'm up that way. Didn't his family once know the Laura Engles family of 'Little House on The Prairie' fame? Hmmm - I saw that book at Value Village the other day and should have picked it up! Talking about old-time Skagit celeberties - in the book, Exploring Puget Sound, Hilson, 1975 - there is a mention of a member of Butch Cassidys gang on Skagit Island (Around Deception Pass). "Oct., 1901. The "Flying Dutchman" is cornered at his hideout and captured following a long shootout on Skagit Is. Henry Ferguson's active career of smuggling, burglary and piracy is interrupted only briefly before he returns to business. The one time member of Butch Cassidy's "Hole in the Wall" gang is hung for murder Aug. 28, 1913." Interesting Stuff.

Yeah, thanks - that's a good site. I just emailed them about a privately-published book they mentioned. Interviews with Jean and Edith Bedal. Hope I can get ahold of a copy.
