oh and before I give anyone the wrong impression... non-easterly aspects will still have plenty of storm snow on a probable sliding layer, especially if they can avoid the wind.

Was sunny earlier but it just started snowing here in Burien.  I don't think it'll last long though, the clouds look pretty broken up.  It's not even that cold.

What's with the newscasters all saying "coldest air of the season?"  My dog's water bowl wasn't even frozen this morning and it has been several times earlier this season...

Back to sunny now, but with a blustery North wind which usually means cold air on the way.

56" at Lookout Pass from Thursday night through Monday morning. Not HUGE, but still quite significant.

It has been snowing nonstop at my house since about 8:00 this morning. The flakes are small but about an inch has accumulated so far.

Petey Black Cat has meowed a few times he would like to go outside, but with the head cold I’ve been battling I haven’t been too motivated to go stand around outside to watch the cat make a fool of himself in the snow.

Wet cold in-coming met cold dry out-flowing right over our house yesterday afternoon. Measured 9-10" on our deck by dinner time. WTF!

Different from a convergence zone. More like a collision zone. smile.gif  Incoming moisture hits Fraser outflow.

We do on a very rare occasion get a convergence zone when the wind is from the NW and we are in the lee of Vancouver Island.

Thirty inches overnight on Loup Loup Pass.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Already 10" new at Mission Ridge and still coming down.   I love it when a low pressure system pinwheels onshore at about the mouth of the Columbia, then slowly centers over Moses Lake/Hanford.  cool.gif   That's also what happened in January 2017 when they got 39".  It was only Chair 1 today, but, hey, it's skiing and great natural snow over the man-made base.  Chair 2 opens tomorrow.  tongue.gif
