I would like to make a number of responses here ranging from political to environmental but Tom would kick me off the forum immediately. I therefore resolve to be a good little NWHiker forum member and dignify this post with up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif cool.gif

Well, there's no gurantee that she won't be replaced by someone even less environmentally friendly. shakehead.gif But I'm still glad she's gone.

That's a tough one. Gale had been a lobbyist in Colorado for mining interests before going to Washington and was also affiliated with the Rocky Mountain Legal Foundation (funded in part by Coors). That's right, the person in charge of protecting our natural commonwealth worked to undermine it (pun intended) while in the private sector. So she set the bar pretty low. With midterms approaching, the R's are sweating it over the war, Dubai, wiretapping, etc. and it's likely W won't appoint anyone too obvioso pro-business.
