About 25 years ago I noticed the remains of a large (maybe 8-12" Dia) Pipe mounted to the Pier at Bowman Bay (we used to hike past it every year on the way to the Pass). Some family members said there used to be a saltwater aquarium of sorts in the large field behind the pier that was fed by the pipe. I have a picture in my mind of that aquarium but I do not know whether that was an image of the place or just a vision of what it could have looked like. Does anybody have any historical references or memory of the Bowman Bay area from this era?

That was a State fish hatchery until the late 70's

OK. Thanks for that. Somebody must have been telling me stories then.
