Jersey barriers arent a legal way of saying that a road is closed! Signs are required posted. Jersey's are just a convienience before the signs are posted.
Maybe this is the crux of the issue. If there are Jersey barriers is the road legally closed? Can they ticket you? Idaho but alaska.

Im not perfectly sure if the road closure issue is a fact or not based on the barriers. Ill check in to it. TB PS, Merry Christmas to you all.

high noise-to-signal ratio in this thread. The ascertainable facts: the W fork miller is an old mine-to-market road, over which King county has jurisdiction. It is not on the FS road system. The Skykomish RD has taken no responsibility for the road, despite the fact that the last half-mile or so is inside the ALW boundary. The W fork miller is, as a road, a terrible road. Only for the more dedicated and extrem 4wd elements. Lots of rocks, lots of creek crossings. As a trail it provides trunk access to a number of bushwhacks; no trails. It is probably as fast to walk this road as to drive it. It is not, repeat, not, a road that any person would bother to drive on to get somewhere. It's easier and pleasanter to walk. It's a nice low-elevation walk, nothing hugely scenic. The road is ~3 miles long. The county is trying to close the road. They put up a jersey barrier a couple of years ago. They posted it as closed. The 4wd elements built a bypass. The pile of rocks represents attempt #2. The county is doing a half-assed closure job. If they put jersey barriers about 1/3 mile up, where the road is squeezed between the W fork Miller and a ledge, there would be no bypass opportunities. If they ripped a few hundred yards of road, they could close it at the junction, that would be the end of it. But closure right at the mouth merely presents a challenge to more energetic and 4wd enthusiasts.

As 4x4 trails/roads go this one is relatively boring! That said, the lefty's are in FULL ASSAULT in their efforts to kill/close/ruin ALL off road endevours in this and every other state! Im talking 4x4 trucks, quads, motor cycles, AND YES MOUNTAIN BIKES! It's sad that in a country such as this ONE element can KILL many oppurtunities for so many others! The socialist radical enviro-terrorists will be the FIRST to scream injustice when THEIR interests get the axe! Tom B
