Well you might have seen us Shack. I packed in Saturday with my oldest son. We camped just on the other side of Ellen Creek. It was perfect weather and a perfect place for a quick overnight getaway. It was just great to hang out with my son and fart around without TV and video games. Sleeping under a star saturated sky with the sound of the waves was ultimate. I have to agree with you, there really isn't a more inviting place.

Coulda been - I'm the bigger uglier one. Yes Shack, I was much inspired as well by our trip to Rialto and was going to do up a trip report until you posted (so I sorta piggybacked). Unfortunately, when we walked up to the Hole, the tide was up and we missed the beautiful intertidal sea life shown in your wonderful photos. We did have a peregrine falcon spend nearly a half hour preening for us on a snag very close to our camp. He seemed genuinely unperturbed by our presence, even as we tried to approach for a closer look.
Got you all beat!
I have just returned from a 3 day backpack starting Sunday night at Ellen Creek and finishing at Ozette RS on Wed PM. Most likely the most spectacular trip yet for me. The weather cooperated and the tides dictated our 3 day travel. Absolutely outstanding!
Look for my TR soon.
I love the ocean beaches up north but have never ventured up north towards Rialto beach or Ozette area but after seeing your pics I have to definitely make it a must-do trip!!! Beautiful ocean pics!!!
