It was nice to meet alot of people I didn't know like Mike Collins, Slide Alder Slayer and Greg. Stefan, Tom and A.J. were there. Stefan showed us the permanent knob on his ankle which is pretty impressive. The music was loud but good. I think they call themselves Cascade Jazz. There was a drummer, flutist, and big bass player, playing songs like Poka Dots and Moonbeams (same melody but a bit more lively), It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and other songs. The food was good though I found myself tapping my toes waiting for service (you must go to the mountain, it will not come to you hmmm.gif ). Heard some interesting stories from Mike on his trips to the Southwest. Thanks to A.J. for organizing it.

I don't consider myself a jazz fan, but I thought the music was great, albeit louder than a group of boy scouts in the woods. Service was harder to find than a lost backpack on Ruby Mountain. Amidst the confusion Polarbear ordered an MGD - I think I was the only one who noticed.

My wife came and I am pleased that the guys present behaved well. Stefans ankle is impressive. I think it has enough prominence to warrant its own name. I propose Mons Stefanus.

How about a new route in the Cascades called Stefans Ankle?

My short-term memory is not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my short-term memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

I had a great time! I am now a party trick showing people my ankle and letting them feel my plate!

Art is an adventure.

For the record there was more than one girl. Had a good time but you'd have to trip the waitress to get her attention. Funny the guy in the far corner was getting great service wink.gif . Never did get any food only a liquid dinner. I'd love to get together again but maybe someplace where I can hear someone talking. When the music started I was practicing lip reading. Good music though.

Yes, a good time and good folks. The music was loud, but no worse than a Jimmy Hendrix concert or Led Zepplin. Still better than Kenny G. Great to put some faces on some long-friendly, been-around-a-while web names. As to goils, there were a couple of additional gals stopped by for a little bit, in addition to the Mike's and SAS's lovely wives in attendance. Someone's 'sis and her friend. They'd just come from Mailbox Peak. Uhhh - peak bagging seems to run in the family. Let's wait a month or two and do another. Homework assignment: you all keep your eyes open for quiet, smoke-free places and report back.
