Gee, I wonder why the Search function here or at WTA doesn't reveal too many TRs for Swimming Deer. rolleyes.gif Think Theseus or Glasses Lake descent, but shorter. We accessed the PCT from the Mill Creek service road. The ancient trail is in good shape if you know where to look. Josephine was a beautiful sapphire as usual, but this time we continued onward. This stretch of the PCT is beautiful with views down the Icicle Valley and across to the Chiawaukum range. The late summer harvest looks to be promising. wink.gif We spied Swimming Deer below, and found a "trail" down, and then unsuccessfully looked for a real trail down. So slippery heather, a snow filled chute and talus it would be. After the Lost Lake route last week, David declared, " We're having another adventure!" I suppose once the snow finger melts out access will be easier. We spent a lovely afternoon at the lake, trying to interest the fish in something. I took my first alpine lake swim of the year - bracing. Just before leaving, I finally enticed a couple of plump RBs. Had one of those leisurely long summer early evening walks back to the car.
