There's also a neat publication put out jointly by Okanogan and Wenatchee forests that is placed in local restaurants (where you would typically find the Thrifty Nickel and Auto Trader rags). This isn't a polictical publication, more about the history of various activities and places within these Forests, which helps regarding choices we make nowadays. The last one I picked up (Mineral Springs Resort at Swauk Pass) highlighted logging families in the Wenatchee forest, and the history of Loup Loup ski resort and other resorts in the Okanogan area, and how these places were advocated in the past.
Advocacy regarding recreation and how the land is used isn't a new concept, but we can't rest on laurels put into place by others in the past; we need to continue with advocacy - advocacy is a living, changing thing because things within society and politics change as well.
