Wed Aug 09, 2006 6:00 pm Memorial Service For Ed |
|
|
|
All, I am working with Ed's family to plan a memorial service. In addition to the logistics of finding a venue on short notice, we are not sure how many wish to attend. If you plan to attend, please vote in the poll to help us estimate how many people to expect. Thanks.
Update: The memorial service will be 2 PM this Saturday at Chism Beach Park (Upland Lawn Site) in Bellevue. |

Just want to clarify, and Tom please correct me if I'm getting this wrong, but you are talking about the big memorial with all the family, right?
I know a few of us at least would like to have a more informal GTG to reminisce and decompress a bit on this. That dialogue has started in the "Tragedy" thread and also in chat last night, but it would be great for folks to have a nice quiet place to talk about all of this.
Maybe midweek sometime soon if that's okay. |

| ML dicey and I were talking about after the memorial service (hopefully Sat.) maybe gathering a bunch of folks to have a GTG sat evening. Up in the air at this point. Just floating the idea out there. |

ML, I was not in the chat the other night so I don't know what was discussed, but yes, this is the memorial with family and anyone who wishes to attend. Per Rick (Ed's Brother) in the other thread:

| A memorial service will be held, but has not yet been determined exactly where and when. All who would like to come and pay final respects are welcomed. I will work with Tom and perhaps on this site communicate that info once it is known. |

| Just wanted to let everyone know there will be a chance at the memorial service for any who wish to speak to say a few words. If you're like me, you may want to prepare your thoughts in advance. Also, if anyone would like to help add a few small touches to the memorial, e.g. guestbook, table, flowers, etc. feel free to send me a PM. Thanks. |

| If some of you could bring your cameras, that would be great too. Some of Ed's relatives will not be able to join, and it would be nice to send them a few pictures of his many friends. |

| As far as scott's need for easels, if anyone is still at their work and can get permission to borrow a writing board stand (easel) it might be worth checking in to. |

We have 75 chairs, but might need a few more, depending on how many people show. If some of you who are coming could throw a couple folding chairs in your car just in case, that would help. Thanks.
P.S. There will be snacks and drinks provided for a post ceremony wake. |

Can anyone bring along a boom box with fresh batteries for tomorrow? The thought is to have something to play background music on...
Thanks!

Also, if anyone has any plastic serving trays we can use for the snacks / food, please let us know if you'd be willing to bring them along. Thanks!
