A group of guys and I are considering trips for the upcomming hiking season and one of my offerings was the Necklace valley, Foss lakes loop. As a persuasive tool, I wondered if you could offer some photos of this area and it's many lakes. The archive cetainly has many examples but they may have been deleted or worse... Any pictures would be appreciated and they would encourage greater exploration into this wilderness area, or at least a trip report. DROCK

DROCK, give me your email address and I'll send you many from a trip through the Necklass, over tanks down to Otter, to Azurite, to Azure, to Chetwoot, to Angeline, to Big Heart, and out! Others to main lakes but not that loop! TB

Thanks for the responses BPJ and McPhil, As I recall you did provide good information when I thought about this same trip last year but this year will be different as I'm going solo or with a group. If you do get some photo's BPJ, please send them to the e-mail address on my profile Thanks, DROCK

DROCK, I have some photos of Little Heart and Copper but they are kind of washed out. I really liked Malachite--the 1/4 mile or less side trip to it is well worthwhile. There were some snow capped peaks beyond Big Heart that looked interesting. Maybe they were Chimney Rock or Overcoat Peak. I didn't get to the other side of Big Heart for a better view of them.

backpacker Joe, Instead of an e-mail address, Starjumper and I should visit with you at an an undisclosed location with the necessary goods, or in a safer mode, perhaps at a NWhiker get-together. But e-mails work too. rockey
