I don't have that many photos uploaded, but here are a few: Joe (on the right) & his friend Ryan at the Greenwater Lakes trailhead. Joe is 3, Ryan is 4. Note that my kid is all decked out - plastic binoculars, the hydration backpack, REI vest... biggrin.gif

And Joe at the huge firs on the Grove of the Patriarchs trail. He had just turned 3 the month before (this was last October, I think).

And woo-hoo! I figured out how to post photos! I'm at work and can't download that photo upload assistant to make them smaller, I'll have to do post photos from home from now on.

My daughter went with Canuck and I to Lk. Eleanor a few weeks back. I was the ever proud Mom as I watched her take off with Canuck just jabbering away about how beautiful everything was. After 18 long, HOT, dusty miles, she beat all of us back to Sunrise and still had a smile on her face. biggrin.gif
And here she is at Berkeley Park...

And here she is at Grand Park... her hair is a mess, but she was still happy and truckin' along! And jabber she did, about everything under the sun. She's one great kid. Smart as a whip too.

Because that is our job! To shape and teach them how to be good, loving contributing adults. Once you loose sight of that then well.... Believe me I don't want the cuteness of josh to go away but this is one time I have to look at the big picture. great stuff folks!

Such fashion sense!!

Tell me about it- here's my baby; she's 24 and married! Yikes!

Well you just knew we would end up posting on this thread! I think it is a common misconception that all Kasey likes to do is to go hiking (or rather that's all her parents take her out to do). That would be a false assumption as Kasey has an appreciation for other things as well like fine art...

Her hiking resume however precedes her, she is certainly the most well travelled baby in all the family having hiked in BC, the Rockies, the North Cascades, several of the major volcanoes (Baker, Rainier, Adams and Hood) and even hiked through the bamboo forests in Hawai'i. First 'hike' at seven weeks

First fall road trip to Cdn Rockies 39 weeks
This year has been much more of a challange for us because babycakes weighs a lot more and wants to walk on her own. But so far, so good. Camping on a road trip to Rainier went over well...

Don't you hate it when you spend a long time setting up a shot in the wilderness and a baby comes bolting out of the bushes and into your shot ruining it? rolleyes.gif

We hope to continue to add to our list of family hikes. Although it is a lot of work, it certainly pays off to see them running around hooting and laughing at the simplest of things likes rocks, sticks and wind. And what could be more rewarding than that priceless, peaceful expression on their face after a hard days play when they are zonked out in the backpack or car seat on the way home. up.gif

PS one last thing, as much as she may look like her ma, there is no doubt that she is Daddy's little girl. When I came home from a 4 day trip all she said all night was dada dada dada!
