My daugther, Anna, & her boyfriend on Aurora Ridge.
This is the third backpack trip for the two of them this summer. It's been fun!
.....leaving me wanting to return over and over in what ever capacity that may be, even if one day my knees are too old and I can only see the mountains from my porch.

not sure why this is in the "our kids" thread?
interesting video though. I would like to see it posted on its own as to not turn this thread into a mess from folks piping in about how it is a communist country and military training for young children who have problems.
hey SB can you move it to its own thread? I think it would make for an interesting conversation but just not in our mushy, lovey kids hiking and pics thread. Don't get mad at me i am asking very nicely.
Josh just turned 6yrs old. I have been hiking with him since he was 2 months old. This is a video of pics and some video clips at the end. I only used images from 2.5 yrs old till now and left a lot of hikes out. Especially ones with the X ...except... for his first scramble up Monadnock in early 2006. he is an amazing kid who enjoys and appreciates the mountains. We taught him well! For those who know me you will understand the song i chose (plus i am a big sappy boob!). Love my little bugger! enjoy.....
Here is kind of funny story...my brother takes his four year old son in to the doctor to get some shots. The doctor gave him the shots, and then evidently asked the tyke a few questions to test his street smarts, one of which was:
Doc: "So if a stranger in a car asks you if you want to see their cat, what do you say?"
my nephew: "No."
Doc: "Very good, and why do you say no?"
my nephew: "Because my Dad is allergic to cats."

My daughter and wife and I headed out to the beach in order to see the sun set on the last day of daylight savings time. We won't be able to do this again at 6:30 PM this year. We're in Del Mar north of San Diego.
