Looking for individuals/groups to hook up with for mostly weekend day hikes in the Cascades and Mt. Ranier. Most of my experience is in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, between Snoqualmie Pass and Stevens Pass, and in the Stuart Range and Enchantments, though I'm game for pretty much anything that sounds reasonable and interesting. Distance (10-25 miles) and elevation gain (4000K+ feet) aren't a problem; I've the strength/endurance of an ox and a mindset that says I can do pretty much anything. In the late season, I really enjoy those marathon cross-country treks. For the early season, I'd prefer to keep with 5-15 mile days, but like I say above, I'm game for anything... I haven't done much early-seaon work, so I'll be gearing up as I go along. I'll be grabbing snowshoes, ice axe, crampons, etc. when the need (opportunity!) presents itself. Looking forward to getting out and experiencing a different side of the outdoors. Anyone else up for the adventure?

<grin> I'll be there...looking forward to it, actually. May be a little late as I have the unfortunate luck of working in Tacoma and don't usually get off until 6pm-ish, but I'll be there. See you then! Michael

Sounds good. I've got a wishlist going already... <grin> BTW- Did I mention I usually base those Enchantments and Stuart Lake day hikes out of my parents' place in Wenatchee? We usually do some variant of the Enchantments marathon the first day, and follow it up with a second day up Mountaineer Creek, onto the shoulder of Stuart, traverse around and drop down to Horseshoe Lake, and then down to Stuart Lake and out.
