Excuse my ignorance, but what is the full story here?

1.) The zillion people doing the dayhike loop. Especially noteworthy were the 14-16 people in the Olympia Mountaineers party. ( Totally inappropriate.) I counted 35+ people visible, snaking their way up the talus, from a perch halfway up Aasgard and I'm sure there were more in the bushes / rounding the lake...they just kept coming. |
That's too bad about the people, we were up there the day before, and we passed 6 people, three campsites and saw no one else, though we were probabaly the first ones up the trail and we kept moving the entire time so no one caught us.

Kind of a redundant post. But I was rather smitten by the peaking larch of the ENCHANTMENTS on 10/10..
I hope it's ok that I tag a long and add what I saw.

Sure...feel free to join in.
Thanks for the pics, Pappy! I've always enjoyed that rock (1642) too. Any chance of slightly larger versions of some of the wider panos? Would love to see your Leprechaun Pano in a little more detail and the Rune pano from lake level is awfully nice.

Nice pictures rat. But, where's the photo of your little electronic Yatzee game you keep in the top of your pack?

I thought you'd never ask. I love panos for the fun effect. A number of the panos I linked are two horizontal shots stitched. If you want something huge, I can send you the originals. I shoot with an 8.1 mp.

Thanks.

I'd have one of those too, if the guy who made the above post had ever given me the one he promised he would!

Thanks. I'd planned on going the day you went, but moved it to Sat when I saw the forecast. But then came down with a bug and decided to bite the bullet and go mid-week - tues.. The basin was almost empty of people like you had. The weather might have sucked, but the color in your shots is wonderful!
