A much-needed quiet day. Our first visit to Bloedels, certainly not the last. Let the photos tell the story. Reservations are required but today there were few other visitors on the premises. The purpose of the reservations is to enhance the quiet beauty of the preserve and keep out crowds. Apparently they only allow 20 visitors in at a time. Good plan.

Found a used bookstore in Poulsbo where I picked up a little gem for $4.50 "Adventuring on the Columbia" by Byron Fish (Bob and Ira Spring Photos), copyright 1956 by Bob and Ira Spring. Apparently part of "Northwest Adventure Series" published by Superior Publishing Co. Then a short visit to Wolfe Property State Park, Bywater Bay and Shine Tideland State Parks (we made a loop on the beach and on the road). These two parks sit close together and are the end of the Hood Canal Bridge. Karen
