Sometime back on one of the earlier boards I promised someone (I've forgotten who!) that I would post a photo of the upper Lemah Creek valley. It took me a while, but I have finally managed to get a photo to post here.
Or, you can get to it from here.

A nice shot, Brian. Ah the mountain realm, makes me want to go for it, but have to work today.

If you look at a map I was probably standing on point 3854 when the picture was taken. If you look in the deep shadows in the left center of the shot you can just make out the upper falls shown on the map. There is a tiny white point that is just in the sun at the top of the falls. The upper lake is visible in the meadows in the valley. We did not climb the peak. We were up there checking out the lakes. It was taken on October 7, 1990.

That's a gorgeous photo. I've never tried posting a link here so maybe this will work or maybe not. Sunrise Pic
But I went out for an overnighter a couple of days ago and took this pic with a cheapie 35mm. Not the greatest, but it's why I like waking up with the sun.

Hey, that's cool Ibex! I've got another shot that is just barely pulled a bit farther left of yours and taken with a wider angle lens. It was exposed for the waterfall instead of the mountains. You can see it was running higher when you were there in July.

If you guys don't stop posting pictures of that place, I'm likely to tear up there in the dead of night in my boxers...
BTW - I found a reference in the Beckey guide that says the falls are named Whinnimic Falls. And, the topo's make it look like it's closer to 400 feet tall. I definitely will get up there this summer to find out for sure. Any good campsites nearby?
